Our Process

Slate Barganier Building works closely with architects, designers, and homeowners to create homes prized for their fine workmanship, authenticity, and beauty.  We constantly strive to update and improve our skills, knowledge, and operating systems in an effort to achieve a quality of work and service that is unsurpassed in the Birmingham area.

Initial Visit ~ We want to know your VISION.  It is your home and we understand the significant investment that you are making now that you have decided to renovate or build.  At our initial meeting we will thoroughly discuss all of the details necessary for our team to prepare a proposal that includes the scope of work that you desire.

Preliminary Proposal and Presentation - After our initial visit, our estimator will schedule a follow up site visit , that will likely include a few subcontractors or vendors, so that we  can obtain itemized estimates from our trades.  Our estimating team will then prepare and send you a detailed proposal and cost analysis that outlines every phase of the construction process.  After your review, we will visit with you in person to discuss the project further and make any changes or adjustments that you may see necessary.

Acceptance and Contract - Once you have chosen a partnership with Slate Barganier Building, our team will prepare the construction contract documents, assign a project manager, and begin planning a construction schedule and start date.

Construction Operations - A project manager is assigned to every project and becomes your day to day contact for all construction related dialogue.  Weekly meetings are scheduled to discuss past, current, and future progress, as well as selection decisions that may be approaching.  It is our goal to make your construction experience as easy as possible for you.

Construction Completion and Warranty - As we near the end of the construction process, our project manager will schedule a series of  project inspections with you and determine a completion and possession date.  Our team will present to you our warranty documents and procedure, as well as prepare a "move- in" manual that will include pertinent information about your project and project selections.
